Hello.... New guy here, but have been lurking and taking advice for quite some time. I have the Superchips programmer, and just downloaded the Trans tune option, and am now pretty confused. I have read through alot of the 254 pages on this post, and still did not find what I was looking for. I tow a boat, and use the Tow tune on my truck, and now I would like to find a good shift schedule for towing. I Have 4.56's, MBRP exhaust, K and N drop in, and e fan.
Thanks in advance for your help.

WOOO....
Finally got my Cortex programmer from 4wheelonline.... it took much much longer than expected to get, but it was worth the wait. I have just installed the basic 91 octane tune and could tell a big difference with just my test drive. I'll play with the advanced stuff after a few weeks with this basic tune installed.

Both the 3865 Flashpaq and the 3950 Cortex offer the same tuning options and both will accept the TPMS and Advanced trans tuning upgrades.

The main difference is that the Cortex offers tuning options for Diesel and gas applications out of the box where as the Flashpaq unit is specific to gas or diesel out of the box. Additionally, the Cortex offers a 2 year powertrain warranty to the original owner but can be voided if you decide to download the TPMS or Advanced trans features due to the fact that those features are basicall for offroad use.

So you just need to decide what options you plan to use with the product prior to purchase.

Thanks Scott for your reply!

Has anyone had any problems with their flashpaq 3865 randomly resetting? Also does anyone have any links to some 06 Ram 4.7L shift schedules?

If it's resetting like a power on reset, send a PM to Scott@Superchips and he'll have someone look into it. Be as specific as possible as to exactly what you were doing when the reset occurred.

I've played a bit with my schedule and have tweaked the mid-range PT shifts of many of the shift tables. The transitions between first, second and third are smoother and 4th and 5th have a much better feel. It should be up on the server shortly -- Mark's Shift Schedule-12.xls

I dont know anything about chips. But I am interested in upgrading my truck 02 4.7l Ram 1500. Do the $25 chips work like the $200? What do I need to do to use a chip? Just buy it and put it in?

Brother, you should know by now that you get what you pay for. Do your reseach and see what everyone is using. There is a reason why they buy what they do. Good luck....
