Neil, no questions are stupid. We all started at the same point. Be sure to read the Advanced Trans Upgrade FAQ found at www.mcfail.net/superchips as it has a lot of your questions already answered.

I have noticed since I reloaded the 87 tune to my truck, that I have seen the decel fuel cut off sooner than expected. For example, I'll be going about 65 and start down a hill...let off the accelerator and the engine speed will drop a bit, fuel flow drops about in half, and then I see fuel flow stop for about a second, then it resumes and the fuel flow comes back up. Did SC happen to change any parameters for the decel fuel cutoff in recent updates?

Well, That seemed relatively easy, plugged it in downloaded software, plugged into OBD11 saved stock file and loaded performance file, WOW what a difference, going to load the towing program next when i take out my 5th wheel then maybe purchase the trans upgrade if i feel the need.
Cheers

I've de-tuned my truck eight times since I bought my first SC tuner in the spring of '06. Each time for the purpose of letting someone try it out on their truck. I noticed it BIG TIME, especially the spongy stock transmission.

Six of the eight guys bought a Superchips tuner within weeks of trying mine...

Do the SC chips for the 4.7 save factory settings? Also my truck is a stick shift, and I am looking to get a little better torque OR MPGs will a programmer really benefit me any? Thanks in advance!

Yes, stock is saved into the programmer and the unit becomes vinlocked to the vehicle at that point. Vinlocking helps preserve the stock setting so in the event you need to return to stock you can without issue.

You will definitely see better throttle response TQ and MPG using the different tunes included in the product.

Any further questions feel free to let me know.
