I loved my '98 RCSB 4x4 with the venerable old 5.9 gasser in it. At 68k miles when I traded it in, I never had any problems with it, I'm sure if I kept it longer the plenum issue would have crept up, but that's basically the engines only major flaw and is fixable.

But it's time had come, RH. The thing was released in the late 60s and the HP per CI numbers were not even really on par with GM even back then. Low end torque was great, even though the numbers on TQ are about the same as a Hemi, the curve was lower, so you felt more of it down low for pulling/hauling. But the thing just drank gas, with a lift and 35s on it, I never saw double digit MPGs unless it was strictly highway and I kept it under about 72 mph...

I heard the unmistakeable whine of a ctd the other day. Sky blue ram with dual stacks . Made my heart go pitter patter. I had too look real hard at my hemi emblem after that experience. They doo sound sweet, but alas my hemi is just that A HEMI! Thanks for the poll hammer, Good too know I'm not alone by a long shot.
p.s. 4.7's are no laughing matter either. I heard a few of the those fire breathing dragons in New Britain a month ago!

I'm surprised the 4.7 isn't making more of a show here. There's something like 56 members of the 287 crew.

2002 was really the last year for the 5.9 gasser. there are some rare 03's with that engine, but very RARE, im supprised that there are even 3 votes up there for it..
