So is the LSD issue only on 1500's? I assume it is because my 10.5" apears to be a full floater.
I was wondering the same thing. I have the HD LSD 10.5 rear but all I read about is the 1/2 ton axle LSD failures. May require further investigation.

As for design flaws, I'm hard pressed to find much of anything that disappoints me. I drove an '87 W150 4x4 for the last seventeen years. An extremely reliable, tough truck but with interior trim plastic cracks, screws falling out into your lap, the aerodynamics of a brick, howling wind noise with the windows cranked up tight, my 2500 is as quiet as can be for a truck. Hardly any exposed screws, decent gas mileage for a Hemi, cup holders, CD player, tinted glass, plus one of the most classic, aggressive grilles in the business (that others try and imitate), and numerous other upgrades satisfy me.
I guess if anything, a little more foot room would be good as it's a little cramped with the center dash layout but at 6'1", combined with the power seat and tilt wheel, it works out ok. I miss the wing windows though.

Did some searching. Didn't see anything bad about the 10.5. However most of the CTD's come with the 11.5 and the 1500's come with the 9.5 (I think) so the 10.5's aren't as common. It definitely is a full floater... so there won't be any C-clip problems.... thats for sure

Cup holders. Need more cupholders. One that can hold a full 20oz water bottle under light acceleration and gradual turns would be nice.

Oh, and an MDS light.

Only had my Ram for several months, still in the honeymoon phase, gradually moving into the nitpicking phase...
I second this one....

I've had so many Ford and Chevy guys gives props to how good the AC is in the ram's. They love how it gets cold as fast as it does. I guess chevy's take foreverto cool down.
+1 to that, the AC in my ram stays cooler at idle then it ever did in my 99 silverado...it's about the same at speed. The radiator and condenser side by sidesetup is awesome...same with the clutch fanon the radiator and electric on the condenser.

But what I don't like so far is the location of the oil filter...the clattering my hemi has (not the hemi tick)...inconsistent idle (sometimes it'll stay at 500 and then othertimes it'll drop to 400 and thenshoot to and hold at600).

I only have 6,000 miles on my '07 4.7L QC 4x4 and so I have few complaints, but so far my biggest is the defroster vents are aimed too high up the windshield glass to clean off the ice and snow underneath the wiper blade edges, leading to build up and the blades freezing.

Where I live, it's a long time before this symptom goes away...

I'll say the weak second gear clutches in the tranny. My truck came with no LSD and I had an Auburn installed so I can not chime in on that one.

Edit: Casper, purchase an aftermarket unit and have no more worries.

The LSD in the 2500's are fine

Our rear end in the 1500 is a 9.25

I have to agree with Marv02, giving a 3.7 V6 engine as an option. At least if you give a V6 make it a 4.2 and change the gear ratio. Cheap *** dodge.

I figure the 3rd gen V6 would probably be about as quick as my 98 4x4 with the 5.2, I have never driven a V6 ram though.
