Default Mileage XS

My mileage actually went down 1.5 MPG with the Mileage Tune over stock configuration...I have re-flashed 3 times, and is always the same. Maybe I should try the Performance 91 tuning.

I'm getting better fuel mileage as well with the performance 91 tune installed. The mileage XS doesn't give me any better than the stock tune. I have an '02 1500 QC 4X4 with a 5.9l.

the common issue with the fuel saver tune is less mileage but its because of how it detunes the engine. i had the same issue when i ran sc but it was also likely because my driving habits didnt change

if you want a true mileage tune then get a real custom tune tailored for your truck and not a generic canned tune written for 1,000,000+ trucks

I agree about changing your driving habits. In order to get the a fuel mileage increases from SC's "Performanc 91" tune you need to have a light foot on the gas pedal. In my case my '02 only has 56k mi. on it.

If you want better mpg's out of a vehicle, make it run more efficiently. The econo tune DE-TUNE the which makes it run almost worse than stock. If you make the truck run better, and more efficiently, your mpgs go up, the effort to get you up to speed will be reduced as well which means your heavy foot doesnt have to be as heavy anymore in order to get you moving as fast as you were before. For me, when the truck was stock, I saw around 11-12mpg regularly, and it took half the peddle before it get up to speed or to merge into traffic and what not, now, I see 16mpg+ regularly and it only takes around 1/4 of a peddal if that to get up and moving quickly.

I do agree a custom tune taylored to your truck is the way to go.
