got my estimate yesterday...this is just to sand and repaint my current bumper

So I get an srt bumper for $350 and cover the small difference on whatever the cost is to paint it...

Sucks to be him then doesnt it? Thats what you get for driving like a boob. Id hurry up and get after him for the $. I wouldnt accept a check, id go to his bank with him and get cash only. Good luck on finishing this up and i hope you get the $ you deserve to make your truck right again.

 

Doubt he's going to pay willingly despite what he says.....you'll have to take him to small claims. Guys like him are douches for a reason..

 

y small claims? he has insurance, just doesnt wanna use it. if he moans, file the claim.

 

It's not quite that easy anymore since he's waiting and didn't do what he should've done. He didn't have the cop make an accident report and there's no witnesses so it's their word against each other. To top it off the truck has front-end damage and the car has rear damage...doesn't look good. If he's lucky it'll be ruled 50/50 fault and/or it goes to arbitration. Whatever is decided in arbitration is what it is....if he isn't happy he'll have to sue civilly.

 

he does have the cop as a witness though since the guy did confess. why no accident report?

he said 'he got it in writing'...i kinda figured that was a police report. you didnt just get an IOU or something did you?

 

Getting something in writing won't mean anything in court unless it's notarized.
