i have an 06 2wd. my plan eventually is to put the spindles like matt has on now. also wanted a 1.5" daystar spacer too for a little more. i would like to put the spacers on until i can afford the spindles cause the spacers are cheap enough to get right now. from reading these posts, i think that new shocks are needed on the 2"+ spacers right??? would my truck ride ok with the stock shocks and the 1.5" spacers??? also, are people putting the spacers on top of the original isolater or do you take off the isolater then put on the daystar spacer? or can you do both and it be ok? wanted opinions on it. thanks everybody

generally people put the 1.5 over the stock isolator but there is no way to fit it with the 2in spacer.

And like I said in my better way to lift thread, I tried the shock length question out. I personally now think that going with 2in longer shocks is the wrong thing to do and that you should stick with stock length shocks, but maybe an after market shock that is a little stronger

yea i think im gonna just throw the daystar spacer 1.5" on for the time being. hopefully it rides good. btw matt99, how are the spindles holding up. u have any clearance issues or any issues at all with them. so would you recommend me buying them for my 2wd 06? hope the leg is doing better too. did you paint or powdercoat the spindles or leave them the way they came? got any more pics of them installed? thanks for the help

So far the spindles seem just find. I would reccomend buying them over coil spacers even because the spindles are better on the suspension and dont change the ride. I painted them before install, a few good heavy coats of black gloss rustoleum.

No more pics because I havent really done much and am still waiting on my flares

so matt99...just do the spindles with no 1.5" spacer? i was hoping to get it lifted up front the 4.5" from that setup. but if it rides like junk i won't....hoping to do the spacer level now, then when money exists, do the spindles and shackle setup. what do you think? looking for a stock feel ride. i do however don't want to deal with any clearance issues. currently i have the stock 20s on 275/60 stock tires. was either looking to do a 275/65/20 or maybe a 295/60/20. maybe the Nitto Terra Grappler. not sure if the 295/60 will kill my gas mileage so much. I do have the stock 3.92 gears in so im hoping that helps. which tire size should i get? i don't want the 35x12.50's like most get. thanks

Excuse me if you've already answered this before, but using the stock length, did you need an extender for the top of your shocks?

Well you can do both, but I would honestly save up and do both at one time. They say you dont but I needed an alignment bad after I did the spindles. Plus you are having to rent tools and on top of that you will have the entire thing broken down for the spindles anyway. You really would be doing yourself a favor labor wise to go ahead and do it all at once.

Tire wise, the 275/65 is the stock tire size on a 20 and the 295 is a bit wider. If anything, Id go taller with a skinny tire than shorter with a fat tire.

my tires are the 275/60/20 goodyear stocks. they are a 33". the 275/65 is a 34". i like the looks of the 295 a lot but i wonder how much more gas that will eat up since its much heavier im assumming. the nitto terra grapplers list the 295/60 at 34.5"x12.3 on their website

I had the ready lift 2.25 installed a week and a half ago and the ride quality hadn't changed EXCEPT for when I drove off a large curb. The front end came down with a bang. I got a full 2.25 lift and my truck sits just about level. If you measure it the back is still about .5 higher, but it looks like the front is higher. Optical illusion I guess. In the end I like the way it looks much better now and I wish I had done it sooner. P.s. It was $350 installed including alignment on a 2008 big horn 2x4.

good info do you have a picture?

edit: if its the pic thats in your garage looks great the problem im having is i just dont think it will raise it enough to level mine my rear sits 3-3/8" higher than the front spindles would be great if that sway bar would work
