2005 RAM 1500 4x4 - HEMI
All stock so far. I'm considering the cold air intake and the throttle body spacer.

5000 miles - averaging 12.7mpg

If you want to think you are getting better mpg, change trip computer to metric and and imagine it as mpg not k/m. (Mine shows 18.8 in metric)

up date...I'm now up to 2500 miles and on a 200 mile trip today I hit 17.8 mpg driving 70 mph in a pretty strong cross wind. I think I would have broken into the 18 mpg range without the wind. Combination driving is still at 14.5 mpg. This truck is also very sensitive to stop and go driving the average decreases pretty quickly when you hit town. Now that I have ahandle on the MPG I'm probably going to go ahead and install my Mopar cold air intake. Will let you know what effect it has.

I own a 2003 5.7L Hemi and it seems to get great mileage (for a V8). I don't open it up that much, so I can easily get 350 miles on a 25 gallon tank. Less foot, more gas. I should add that it is a single cab. Does that matter???

Cont....
After doing the math it equates to 14MPG which isn't great...ha ha. But, hey...at least you look cool and sound cool while driving.

'03 Black QC HEMI, 31K, avg right now @15.9 MPG, combo of city and highway driving. Been trying to get my DTE up over 400 for a contest on another forum, so that means lots of coasting, never over 2K RPM and never over 60 MPH.

for the Diesel guys here wanting better mileage I'm currently in the middle of an experiment that has so far netted me almost 4mpg better than just running straight fuel.

I add 8oz per tank of Power Service (grey bottle) and I get 1.5-2mpg more than without. going to 16oz gives me .5 better than the 8oz mix. things I noticed was engine idled MUCH smoother and had a bit more power.

three tanks ago I decided to toss some 2 stoke oil in the tank, the small bottle and 16oz of PS. the first thing I noticed was I was running the same mileage as just the straight 16oz PS, however a tick I had come accustome to with my Cummins all but vannished.

after two tanks of no addatives my mileage was back to where it goes without addatives. I filled up yesterday but this time I added some Marvel Mystery Oil to the mix. 16oz PS and 8oz of MMO. I normaly get 15.5-16 without addatives. this mix put me right under 20 according to the overhead, which is usualy .5 low. . .and I wasnt being easy with her either[sm=jawdrop.gif](meaning ricers in the area[8D])

anyway, this is an experiment in the works and I'll report back with some results for everyone
