Miles per gallon- What are you getting?
I have a 07 1500 Mega cab I get about 8.9 around town and maybe 11 on highway the truck has a 6" lift riding on 22's with 35's on them 5.7 Hemi 44k mileage I need to figure something for mpg I mite try the star tron to see if it works
Good luck with that!!! MegaCab gasser with 6" of lift & wheels that big you probably aren't gonna see much more than a mpg or two at the most more than where you are at now...
Hi all, new to this forum, I have a 2000 Dakota Sport 4 door with the 5.9l Magnum...getting around 11 mpg... was going to replace the MAP sensor, see if it helps any...I have a gforce chip and a k&n filter on her now, trying to do whatever I can for better gas milage...I do the proper oil changes and tune ups, she has 106 thousand on the motor...anything I am missing as it pertains to helping out the mpg? Thanks for building an awsome forum here!

you need to fix your plenum issues first and foremost.. go ahead and get an aluminum pan replacement, and use fel-pro gaskets.. you have a magnum, so, you have a blown plenum.. it's the single biggest issue with those engines..
after you're done with that- new o2 sensor(s), new plugs/wires/cap+rotor button (copper, nothing fancy with plugs), get a programer and relieve your PCM of the 'death flash' (rec SCT from Hemifever).. run the low test tune, so you don't ping when you:
keep an OE rated 195* stat, the 180* is for performance, not for economy.. the cooler temps allow Hemifever's tunes to advance timing more safely, but the cooler temps drink more fuel- that isn't your goal..
ditch the clutch fan, install an efan..
all said, here is the second best thing you can do for your truck and improving economy AFTER you fix the plenum and tune it up: install a vacuum gauge, learn how to use it, and alter your driving style to maintain as much vacuum as you can in every driving situation..
need a lot more information to figure that one..
last tune-up? wires routed properly? plugs gapped correctly? anything dragging the engine?
what is your running temperature? Is the clutch on your fan operative or is it dragging it full-time?
what does your air filter look like? when is the last time you cleaned the TB? Do you see any type of grime on the o2 sensors? (road grime, and God help you, anti-freeze spilled on the exterior of the o2's can render them inoperable, because they aren't truly sampling outside air- and all without the PCM knowing because the contrast between interior and exterior samples aren't outside parameters)..
is your exhaust clogged? get a vacuum gauge on your engine.. they can be had cheap, and are likely the most useful of the add-on gauges.. //check this link out//
is there a vacuum leak somewhere?
what tire size? what gearing?
do your wheels/axles/gears roll freely or are they being restricted by something?
there is a ton of stuff to wade through to figure out what's going wrong.. start simple.. install that vacuum gauge.. if you follow the link, you'll be impressed about how useful they are..
06 Reg cab 4x4 with the 4.7. I get around 12 city and 16-17 hwy. I have k&n filter and run 245/70r17. Gonna put 285/70r17 nittos on after new years. Gonna try the Star Tron as soon as I can go to Wally world. I drive with a light foot and use the cruise control.wish I could get closer to 20 hwy as I commute 40 miles one way to work( all freeway)
