Just did a 320 mile trip in my truck a week ago

14.7 mpg doing 75~

2002 qc 4x4 with 200k miles on the 5.9 magnum, sitting on 305/70/17 Nitto terra grapplers.

When the truck had 170k on it, drove it to Kentucky, avg 70mph, got 18.2 mpg on that trip. Only difference was it had a 305/55/20 terra grappler on it, and 30k less miles.

In the city I avg. 10, which is exactly what the meter uptop says, and even the instant one reads damn near perfect on my truck even when you break it down by good ol pen and paper.

Do you have a tuner that you changed your speedo with so it will read the correct speed? Larger tires turn less per mile and mess with the overhead system which will give you bad numbers unless you adjust the speedo with a tuner. That and the tuner will give you some power to help push the tires

So I filled my tires to 35.5-36 PSI on all fours (I was at roughly 30.5 on all fours... :0) and this obviously had a positive effect on my mileage.

I am doing 11 MPG in town and I dunno on highway. I would guesstimate 22 MPG. Shame on me for not having proper pressure!

Ha! bigger gallons only mean bigger prices... about 6$ a piece right about now on average.
