eltupac... you're right. lol. v6 is definitely not good for a full size truck. and i think, no, i KNOW that hemi's get better mpg than a v6. so next time i get a truck it is definitely a dodge hemi. i can't leave dc after it has taken such great care of me... so far.
I just got my 1500 Hemi and I'm getting 17.5 on the overhead just driving around the city lightly. That being said, it has like 200kms on it so maybe I'll post back in a few months.
I'm wondering if anyone uses 91 octane and, if so, does it yield any better mileage for you?
I used to put higher octane in my old Dodge (1981 with a 350) I noticed solid power and mileage gains on the truck but whenever I tried it in newer engines I never got the same result.
Any experiences?

I have a 2003 Quad Cab - 4x4 - 4.7 Liter.
The best I have seen is on the interstate going downhill with the wind behind me and it was right around 19.0. My normal daily commute is mostly hilly, two lane road driving (about 20 miles one way) and the computer says I average around 13.7. No matter what I do, the computer always goes back to that 13.7 overall. Seems like that is its sweet spot.
I'm pretty light on the pedal because the area is dangerous due to the narrow road and tons of deer.
Wish I would have gotten a Hemi!!!!!!!!

I own a 2003 1500 Quad cab 4x4 4.7L and I get about 12 towing 2 wheelers on a 12 foot trailer and about 15 without. I am not to happy with the mileage but I am very happy with the truck so like most things, i'll take the very good with the not so bad.
2005 3500 shortbed dually, 5.7L Hemi. Towing 10.5 max, highway 11, 13 if I baby it, around town it reads 6.4 right now, 9.5 max, when I bought her I saw 12 around town, now I have 19k on er and can't figure it out.. Last month I saw 4.3 towing going through the white mountains of VT.. thinks I got a problem.............pipe in if you have any ideas..
