Miles per gallon- What are you getting?
ORIGINAL: gb2
Has anybody else heard of synthetic oil increasing gas mileage ?? There are some that say 1 to 2 miles per gallon more.... If you have tried this and it's true, or not, let me know. I'm due for an oil change soon !!It works in both of my PT Cruisers. Got to BJ's For your oil it's cheaper there. I take my oil to the Dealer they change it there and supply the filer and it cost me $18.00 plus the price of the oil and they also check out the cars. Dodge will do the same.

You guys are killing me, I've got a 2000 4.7 dakota quad cabwith a cat back flowmaster and a new tonneau overand I can't get better than 8.9,I am mostly in town?doesn't sound like theres any air intake kits that improve it much either,I have 30x15 tires on it which are a little bigger than stock but didn't think it would matter that much?is there any improvement by adding the k&n stock filter replacement?I don't have the overhead console so I go by the trip meter could it be off a little?help I'm going broke quick from this little pig.
If it says Dodge any place on your truck you know it has to be hard on Gasoline. The wider your tire and the more rubber on the road means less gass mileage. If you had highway treads and thinnertires your mileage will go up. Less drag. on the road. Do you really need those ugly tire's.?
Silvers' right, the next set of tires will be road, not the mudders like i'm running now. Since I've broken my ankle 3 weeks ago, my trucks been getting great mpg in the driveway !! I am going to make an appointment for the synthetic oil change as soon as my son in law can drive it over there........
Just bought the truck with them on already, can't justify to replace them at what they cost it would take too long to make up the diiference in mpg, will have to wait til they burn off I guess?Still not enough positives on the intakes to make that decision either?anyone ever make a air intake out of pvc or any thoughts on it?could possibly make it and paint it black?
I had a 95 dakota with the 5.2 stock when I got it would only get 9 in town. 1500 bucks in upgrades..computer ,accell ignition, exhaust , ramair system, and a set of lectric fans later I was getting 14 mpg in town 24 highway and doin 13.40s in the 1/4 at109 in the traps. Amazing how good the gasmilleage got with the hopups. Now I got the 03QC hemi 2wd and have started in on it and am seeing improvement all the time. Did a custom cia and superchips programmer on 87 octane , my in town is up to 14 mpg and trust me , I am not grandpa 'n it.
2006 quad cab hemi 4x4. Superchip and cold air intake.
