If you're really looking to **** some people off then yeah, go ahead and pretend you're in NASCAR and draft a semi. As for the octane, every vehicle I've ever owned has gotten worse mileage on higher grade fuel. More power, but less mileage. Not really sure why.

Of course you will if you pretend you're in NASCAR and tailgate. Would never recommend it. To draft, you simply need to be inside their slipstream, which extends back quite a bit at highway speed. I can usually maintain a safe distance fo 100-150 ft. , still seeing their mirrors and be in their draft. Occasionally this will **** the driver off, but since I usually end up blocking for them in heavy traffic, keeping tailgaters off and during lane changes, so they tend to like me.

For everyone looking to get better gas milage who drives at highway speeds, it can't be beat. I got a 10% improvement in MPG on my last trip and went faster than normal to boot! You'd have to spend hundreds of dollars on cold-air packages, exhausts and computer chips to get that kind of improvement and I actually saved instead of spent money. Of course my truck doesn't sound as good or look any different under the hood, but it doesn't have any interior resonance on the highway and I only pop the hood to change the oil anyway. Leave's me more money to save up for the new Challenger.

Had a question... Why you removed the baffle and silencer ring, and if it improves anything.

Brand spanking new to this forum as I just picked up a 2004 4.7L V8 Ram 1500 Quad Cab. On my first tank, I got 16MPG on about 2/3 highway and 1/3 city. Where's the best place to pick up some nerf bars and should I stick with regular or synthetic oil?

http://www.summitracing.comhas never let me down.

Synthetic is definitely the better motor oil for any modern engine, although I'm not sure spending the big bucks for full synthetic is worth it.Why spend so much for an oil that will last 15,000 miles if your required to change it much earlier in order to meet warranty requirements.I use Valvoline synthetic blend, which is half the price of full synthetic and change my oil every 5000 miles.

Truck in signature...17.9 mpg according to the truck.

I have yet to actually sit down and figure it out, as I just bought the truck on Friday.

Just picked up a 2005, 5.7L, sport edition with an extang cover over the bed - 16.1MPG on 89 plus gas. Overhead reads about 18 MPG. This is 1/2 back roads about 40-50 MPH, up and down hills / mountainsand 1/2 highway about 70 MPH.
