Angry Hid extra is total crap

well i ordered 2 kits from them, 1 for my headlights, 1 for my fog lights

the fog kit: only 1 ballast worked

headlight kit: spent my 1 day off during the blizzard that hit our area, on installing them, only to get no results, posted on here, and they didnt include the "special capacitor"

so i told the girl, they wanted me to pay to mail the bad ballast from the fog kit back to them, so they could send me a poorer grade "loaner". i told them no i will buy a new ballast, and then return the bad one.

the new ballast came yesterday, and i just went to install it and what do you think happened? NOTHING, ANOTHER BAD BALLAST. i had one side working so i switched all 3 ballast (the working one, the old bad ballast, and the new replacement ballast) on both sides with both bulbs, only to get the original good one working on both bulbs on both sides of the truck.

im still waiting on these "special capacitors". so they obviously dont give 2 ***** about me, or they would have sent it asap with express or something shipping.

and btw, the first go around of installing the kits was on my one day off during the huge blizzard that hit the DC area. where i spent 14 days straight of shoveling snow (not my home, commercially) with one day (just day time) off. and it went to bs'ing with the HID kits and then complaining to them

So my experience has been horrible, 1 out of 5 ballast and bulbs will light up. Im completely disappointed with the company and don't recommend them to anyone on here

Wow! But how do you really feel?

Just kidding dude.....Mine have been trouble free thus far. I did just order some on eBay for my Hellas that are Xentec brand.....we'll see how that goes.

i know it may sound silly and you say the one ballasts worked on both sides, but is it possible you have the connector plug backwards? Chrysler has the pos/neg reversed from what the ballasts are. So, I guess I'm asking if you tried flipping the plug around? Also, the capacitors just stop the flicker, it won't make a non working ballast work kinda thing...
As with mostly everything, you get what you pay for. Almost all conversion kits are crap. It's a toss up for how long they will last or if they will even work. Luckily, my HID Xtra kit worked fine, although they only sent me one mounting bracket(which i didn't use anyways)

I am not well versed with the HIDs but arent you supposed to add relays and such to get them to work correctly, that arent included in the kits? I knwo this is the story with the Daks

You only need resistors to turn off the lamp illumination light in the dash and will in turn stop the flickering, but the caps aid with that much better as they don't "eat" up 20w of electricity on a constant basis and smooth out the pulsed signal that is being sent to the lights due to lower current readings at the ecu.
The lights will still work, they just may flash irratically.
The Rams 2008-prior have canbus for the headlights but NOT for the fogs, so no special capacitor is need for the fogs as there will be NO flicker at all. The 2009+ have canbus for both headlights and fogs.

Thanks Dirty, that's exactly what I was talking about. I never really thought about using capacitors, great idea!
