Question Pics for those wanting to see 37s on the 4.7 1500.

Well I took the plunge after talking extensively with my 4x4 rock crawler buddy who knows quite a bit about this kinda thing. Order my new gears and pinions for the front and rear end. He's gonna put em in for free. I went with Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's....37x12.5 R 17. As for repairs, when and if they come....so be it. If it gets to be too much I'll drop back down to 35s.

Anyways someone wanted to see pics of my truck stock, then another wanted it with the 33's.....so I'll post some originals, and then what she looks like now. I apologize on quality as these were all taken on my iphone. What ya think?

Few months ago all stock.

33 Nitto Mud Grapplers with just level done.

Sorry, but this is the only pic I got of the 33's with the 6 inch lift on it.

Here it sits on 37s.

They are so much quieter than the mud grapplers. I can't even hear them honestly, but then again I have straight pipes and could still hear the humming over the exhaust ( with the grapplers ). It drives just fine, and the only difference I could feel was climbing the mountain outside of Wheeling, WV. It never would shift back into overdrive. In town and everything else is identical to what it was before as far at the butt dyno can tell.

I'm getting 4:56 Ray something???'s lol

in no way is that practical. I dont even think it looks good -- its too stuffed. You need more lift. I hope you dont plan on taking that anywhere offroad. You'll be rubbin like crazy

Planning on an additional 3 inch body lift. I agree, it looks stuffed. Makes the 17 look tiny.

IMO, if you wanted to go up 9" and have 37's, you should have traded your truck for a 2500 with a solid front axle. I have a buddy who lost almost a full 2 weeks of vacation due to a front end related breakdown on the highway with his 6" lifted truck and 37s. Just simply too much stress on these relatively weak IFS trucks.

But I love the tire choice...

Truck looks good.. Are you rubbing at all with steering wheel locked??? What kind of tires and what is the width on them.. I got a guy willing to sell me some procomp 37x13.5 with about only 2-3000 miles on them for 500$...

There is absolutely no rub at all. I have turned the wheels completely both ways and drove forwards and backwards. I even ran one side up a slop here at the hotel parking lot ( I'm outta town working ) and flexxed one side and still no rub, Maybe it's the level kit that is keeping it up in the air. Regardless I still plan to do a PA body lift cause I agree it looks a bit stuffy in there now.

As for the wear and tear....I'm not that worried about it. I don't do much wheeling except for at work trying to make it up and down right of ways that get muddy. If it starts tearing up I'm sure someone would love to buy a set of used 37s and we will join the 35 inch crowd. But I've read good stories and bad stories on IFS with 37-38 inch tires. Seems to be who gets lucky enough to get a good one, or unlucky enough to get a bad one....hope mines a good one. If not you guys who dislike the look can say I told you so. It's just money.....
