Hmm. When I go on Advance Auto Parts and type in the info, it has 2 options
5.7 345cu--- Vin D EZB
and
5.7 345cu--- Vin 2
If you're referring to the 8th digit of the Vin, the difference between the 2 and the D is one engine has MDS and the other does not. Mine is a D, which is a non-MDS motor.
is there not a spot on the vin that shows what the ratio of the rear end is?
No, that is specified by the manufacture at time of assembly and is included in the sequence number. You'd have to take it to a dealer and they could look it up.
Or look in the glove box, usually there is a sticker there, however thats the first thing to get pulled off it seems, it is also stamped into the rear axle facing the front btw.
is there not a spot on the vin that shows what the ratio of the rear end is?
No. Either the glove box sticker or tag on the differential. Next step is jack up the rear end, twirl the rear wheels and count the drive shaft turns. Someone here can run your VIN and round up a build sheet for you.
