Hey Weed,

So I think I get what you have to do in order to avoid the flickering problem with the headlight from your explanation but I'm still a bit confused.

So I bought HID Kit from DDM Tuning. They are 9007 high/low kit. Obviously they flicker. Someone told me about the 6 ohm 50 watt resistor to basically fool the system. Now how many resistors will I need though? Also for the high/low kit, you only plug the harness into one stock harness and the other is left unused. So the resistors will solve the flickers for high/low beam but not the lamp out... How do I solve that?

So would I need 2 resistors? One for the high and one for the low? That will solve the flicker, but what about the other harness being left unused leading to a lamp out light in dash?

Lastly, would these resistors work or do you have any you'd recommend?

Thanks a bunch in advance,

Jaz

Those resistors are what you need but those you picked out are too costly. These are the same but for much less

@Weed: Ok I read the other one so I need 4 resistor's but I have a 9007 high/low kit with relay kit. So one headlight is left unplugged, so I wouldn't even need the resistors for that side harness would I? Sorry I've read so much crap about this my mind is just boggled.

So what I got from this is. If i use just a low beam kit (which would be fine because it'll be plenty bright) I will plug one bulb into the headlight and other wire with resistor into stock harness and the same for the other side.

BUT if I have a high/low beam kit, i will plug into one stock harness with resistor attached for high and low (2 resistors installed) and then the other bulb goes right into headlight because it does not use the stock harness with the connector on that side. So that gets me thinking why do I need 2 more resistors or where do I put them in, and then it keeps me thinking I'm going to have a loose harness just hanging with nothing in it, which will cause a bulb out...

ah...

@jusjay: dude those are sweeeeeeeeeeet! I thought they didn't make em retro style like that, keeps that nice clean look rather than those tacky ones you get online with LED and angel eyes etc. consider those purchased.

you need resistors on the both side high/lows because the truck monitors both sets of lights, you could do the one side with the harness and it would stop the flickering but you would get a lamp out because it doesn't see any bulbs in the other side (because there isn't)

basically a halogen bulb is a resistor that gives off light so you'r trying to fool the truck in to thinking there are 2 bulbs in the truck each with a high and low (4 resistors). when adding the resistors you are completing all the requirements to keep your truck happy and your lights working

hope that helps

@Marx

Thanks a bunch bro that really cleared up the mess in my head. So i'd put the resistor on the stock harness on both sides (2 per side).

And since one harness is not plugged in, to avoid lamp out, I just put the resistor's on the stock harness and leave it unplugged and its all good?

thanks!

Right, 2 per side. This is the plug made for the pass side I use.
