Finally got time to get rid of some of the woodgrain!
It was a "test run" just to see how it would look. I used the radio bezel because i already had it off when i put in some tweeters. I had planned on just tinting the wood grain with some VHT nite shades so it would have black wood grain look but i didnt like the look of it. So i went ahead and put 2 more heavy coats on which blacked it out. I like it and will finish painting the rest sometime this week or weekend.
All i did was tape it up around the wood grain. Sanded it down with some 320 grit. cleaned it with wax and grease remover and then with some of this antistatic stuff that supposed to help with painting on plastic. I let it dry for 30 minutes and then started painting. I'm satisfied the way it turned out. I plan spraying it with some clear coat after i do the other pieces.

I love the look of real wood. I still buy guns with nice wooden stocks even though they cost more and take WAY more care. Most of the furniture I have is actual Cherry wood
My Grand Cherokee interior is REAL Burl wood and looks really sharp!
But nothing looks cheazier to me than fake wood that they didn't even make an attempt to have it look real - as in the Ram trucks.
Good job!!!
