Default Fuel economy options what is best??

Hi guys, well my truck is a 2003 5.7 HEMI 2WD S/B I have a fresh service on ALL fluids, replaced spark plugs with Champion Platinum, Volant CAI, Gibson exhaust. The truck is "supposed" to have a Superchips program but I have yet to verify this. I have done all of this, and still the truck continues to get 8-9mpg city and 15-16hwy, two tanks of fuel later my total average is 11.5mpg based on math NOT on the onboard computer.

Any ideas? I love my truck, but it's eating me out of house and home with fuel costs.

15-16 highway is about right. The platinum plugs might be affecting the city mileage. How 'bout the TB and PCV valve?

The ONLY mod that is cost effective for increasing fuel economy is an e-fan, anything else that yields similar results cost so damn much you need to drive 100k miles to make the cost of the mod back! Plus the free'd up 15-18 HP ain't bad either!!!

when I got my 03 ram in 04 it too had Gibson exhaust and volant intake. I averaged low numbers just like you until I swapped out the Gibson for a flowmaster with 3 inch exit just before the right rear wheel. the overhead said before I was getting 9.8ish and after the fm and gutted volant box a bit the over head said 11.1 and that's all with same driving habits.

I used the Flex-a-Lite 180 Extreme (since replaced with the 183 Extreme), complete kit, nothing extra to buy. Good documentation too. Not a difficult install at all, hardest part is getting the stock, clutch fan off.

Many have done the Taurus "pick 'n pull" fan as well, with good results... I believe there is a DIY in the FAQ section for this one...
