Building a 5.7 liter SINGLE TURBO
weill i dont mind tuning on a dyno with a shop but who does tuning close to greenville sc ? and what all is involved with adding aditional injectors ? and im not touching my motor as it only has about 60 k on it now so its fairly new but i heard you can do about 525 orclose to 600 hp with a good tuner man !!! so the only thing im worried about is tuning and injectors and fuel pump ? the rest of the kit im pretty sure i got it on lock, but where can i feed the turbo oil from off the motor ?
Get a oil filter sandwich adapter, you will put the oil feed from there. Oil return you can plum into the valve cover.
Oil pump you will need to oil the turbo get from RB Racing here in Cali, you will also need two check valves (they sell them there).
I would suggest only 6-7psi of boost max.
Adding additional injectors: Get a "T" adpater for your feedline to the primary injectors, then feed this additional line to your two new injectors which will be fed into the charge pipe leading to the the T-Body. You can use a Split Ssecond AIC1 to control it, of a LINK additional inj. controller (I can help you here as I have both of these units).
Fuel pump, should be ok for 6-7psi
im sorry didnt understand about the oil pump, but i know i gotta pump the return oil up to the motor electronically, and can you explain the 2 additional injectors a little more i didnt get it completely about splicing i understand the fuel line part, and what controllers ? what do you guys recommend ?
and my tranny is already built. Foothills 4x4 built it with a 3krpm stall converter and a fully forged rear end with gears, and i have custom traction bars and custom u bolts and a flip kit with a medium c knotched frame, so i think i am about good on the drive train
Before you get too excited about your new truck, you need to research your tuning options as it being a 2003 model you are somewhat restricted. ie Diablo will allow custom tuning as far as fuel and timing goes. No trans, rpm or speed adjustments. SC allows only canned tunes, no trans, but does allow RPM and speed adjustments. SCT, not supported. If you find a laptop program, let us know. Good luck...
Just remember 03's are different than the newer models. None of the kits out there are for 03's. We are the "Forgotten" model. I have gone from SC3865 to DSP and now trying to go back to SC3865. My PCM won't allow the new SC to load. But anyway although the DSP allows for custom tune I couldn't stand not being able to adjust the rpm limiter or adjusting the speed restricter. Those were my main concerns. But I haven't given up trying to figure the old girl out.
yeah i shoulda said something we are the 03 model lol !!!
now we into it togetha!!! well we need to figure something out !!! i need to tune my damn truck !!! idc what i gotta do i am gonna turbo it just to blow off at the 18 wheelers when i go by them !!! haha
