You didn't mention this point at the get-go, being able to haul the family too. Now, it takes on a diff direction.

In your quest, look what you've caused to emerge. Its the on-going meat-stretching contest between the 4.7 5.7 has hijacked the thread.
I for one, would have 2nd thoughts about handing off a 4.7 to a lady unless you plan to Shepherd it and just let her gas&drive.

One more question. Being you are now looking for a truck (full-size) QC almost new, low-wear, 15k USD or less. Have you approached your favorite bank, CU for any hardShip units, lease returns and can't meet the balloon pay-off. or don't want to?

BlackSport, By the way, "one more distraction IS TOO MANY" especial for a young driver with the paddle on the metal.
You're 100% correct, "especial" (especially) young drivers. But, are you going to take out the radio?

They were advertising a brand new 4th gen Quad Cab 4x4 here for $13,900 after incentives and discounts. Almost looked into it till I read the fine print and saw it was a V6. No thanks.

No, I would just remove it. The bullet may go thru the firewall and disable something useful.

That is so rude by ones close to you but thats the rule of the jungle sometimes toward ones with head-space syndrome but it is big of you to admit it on the Dforum. Keep that chin high and the wheels on the down side.

I think the Hemi would also hold a better resale value, in the long run it might be worth it to find a Hemi. (Hemi had bad valve springs in 2003 and was fixed by 2005)

Well this is a great thread and hopefully helped both the OP and his daughter. We all wish him the best in finding the perfect truck and a DR is certainly it. Due to not being technical though, its time to move it to the General section.
