So I have an quad that I just got fixed after a year. Its a polaris tail boss 325 and its heavy. Getting into my truck bed is a pain. I need at least 3 people to help me and most of the time its just me with no help. I cant drive it up there with ramps cause it too steep. I was thinking of mounting a winch in the back of the bed so i can just attach the cord to the atv and it pulls it self up . Sounds like a good idea. I dont even know anything about what kind to buy. Just a simple cheap one i guess. I know you guys have atvs and bikes so please chime in. Thanks

I was thinking that but I do not know if that would hold. I think it would snap and The tie-downs are only on the side so pulling from the side wouldn't make the atv go up straight. This is none right in the back in the middle. It would be better to mount winch on atv and be easier but with no where to hook clip on bed i cant do that. More help guys. Thanks

I would put the winch on the fourwheeler...I dont know why you are saying it is too high because I put my fourwheeler in mine every once in awhile and mine is a lil higher and has 12in outlaws that literally have less than 1/2in on either side once in
I bought a trailer for $500 which cost less than twice as much as my winch (a good warn winch/mounts is $300) but dont use it for that
you have to remember the angle you are trying to use to pull the fourwheeler up....if you put it up high the bed isnt supported enough to pull the quad up so it would fold in...put it too low and the cable couldnt go strait to the quad, it would be pulling against the tailgate. I say put the winch on the fourwheeler and run a wire from the front two tie downs to each other, then hook the winch cable in the middle and you would be doubling your strength

+1 on putting the winch on the four wheeler, but seriously, you should be able to drive yours right up there. I'm lifted 4" and have 35" tires and drive mine on all the time. You can't be any steeper than I drive up.
The key is to stand up and lean forward as you drive up, just like climbing a very tall grade. When you have most of your upper body weight forward of the handle bars there ain't no way that thing will flip backwards...
