You guys getting above 10mpg are lucky. My 03 2500 QC only gets 9.5 around town with 35" tires. And all the plugs, wires and air filter were done recently. I need a

I used to worry about getting better gas mileage in my truck and its pointless you wont gain that much from anything so just enjoy your truck thats why you bought it and put bigger tires on it! or sell it and get a cummins youll get better mileage with mods then! i have 37s on my mega cab and i get around 11mpg with cai and tuner.

Even the cheapest mpg mods won't pay themselves up for some time, sometimes you end up getting rid the truck before they do.

So mpg is just an excuse i use to tell the wife when she sees the boxes from jegs and summit arriving at the house

That would be shorter gears. Would work well in town. On the interstate, not so much. Plus, it would take a long time to gain back the kilobuck in gas savings.

whatever theyre called haha. and im not saying gears can pay for themselves. especially when those gears cost over 1k installed. im just saying the short term effects could be beneficial if not way more fun.
and how are so many people getting such bad mpg. sure in town ill get around 12-13. but on the highway (with cruise control) ill get 18. on one trip i got 20.1 when i slowed my speed to see what would happen. and no i did not have a tailwind. there was no wind. my mds is still on but still...
i was towing a 6000lb boat down to branson for a weekend and got 13mpg average.

stock mega cab (all but home made cai) averaged almost 19mpg on a 450 mile trip even after goin over the grape vine as we call it here in so cal 4000 foot elevation. best speed to set cruise on is anywhere in between 60-65 with the stock 3.73 gears.

13mpg towing a 6K lb boat to Branson is pretty darn good. Some of them hills are pretty dang steep.

I can say that drafting semi's definitely does increase mpg. I can get upwards of 67mpg in my metro by drafting. However it is dangerous and I don't do it very often at all.

I got to figure out why all the sudden my gas mileage has gone to crap in my truck. I am down to 8mpg in the city and I am not even running 35's anymore. Airfilter is clean, Plugs have less than 2,000 miles on them. Tires are inflated touch over recommended.Just can't figure it out. Guess I should hook up the DSP and see if I can figure out what is going on. Im Thinking maybe I got a bad tank of gas or something.

if you guys are going by your over head on mpg it is wrong all ways wrong. i have found mine differs by up to 1.8mpg. you can mod it to death but if you are looking for better mpg get ride of the big mud tires and just keep your foot out of the gas don't go above 3k rpm when speeding up set the cruse on 55 and turn it off and coast when you know you are coming up to a stop or turn. the best i have gotten is 16.1 (done by hand over head showed 17) i have noticed the over is close if you drive like a grandma the whole time but if you stomp it a few times it is way off. its a truck with a big motor it is not going to get good mpg no matter what you do.

No way I would own a MC or a 2500 with a HEMI.
