As much as it pains me to say it, assuming your truck is properly up on it's maintenance, the single best thing to do is to go with smaller, thinner tires and lighter aluminum wheels.

As far as mods go, an e-fan will help (boy, that's come up a LOT lately), but about any other mod will cost you more than the fuel savings you can expect.

I've got damn near all of 'em (CAI, e-fan, LT headers, free flowing exhaust, tuner, etc., etc.) and I'm right at about 12.8 in my average driving...

3 Things you can do:

1. Get a Prius

2. Travel on a Mo-Ped

3. Wait for the Electric Car to come back

Welcome to driving a truck...

Tuner, efan, gears can all help, but there is no mod you can do to your truck that will pay for itself in fuel savings.

get some taller gears. with 35s you may want to go 4.56s. other than that tuner, intake, freeflowing exhaust will help out some. with all that you might get back to 16mpg if you can keep your foot out of it. (good frikin luck with that) youre not gonna get no 25mpg though.
i dont know if they actually help and maybe someone on here has one but ive heard a tonneau can increase your mpg a little bit as well.

Gears are a FANTASTIC mod, but at a minimum of $1200 for a 4x4, he's gonna have to drive the truck till about 2028 before the fuel savings would pay off the mod... Besides with gears although you should gain an mpg or two around town, you'll probably lose 1 to 2 mpg on the highway...
