Default Selling the Ram

I found out its going to cost me a little over 5k to ship the Ram from GTMO up to Illinois so I've decided just to sell it and buy a new one. It sucks to let her go after all the money that has been put into her but it isn't worth 5k in shipping imo. I found an '07 1500 5.7l 4x4 Big Horn with 30k miles for 22k yesterday so I'm hoping to sell mine as quick as possible so I can jump on it.

GTMO? You mean Guantanamo Bay, Cuba?
Won't the Military pay for that kinda stuff?
Assuming your Military, and the Cuba thing....

Yeah Guantanamo bay. The military pays for the primary vehicle, in this case it would be my mom's car. They don't cover any additional vehicles so I would have to cover the shipping for the truck.

Sorry to hijack your thread. But what's GiTMO like these days? I have not been there since 1990 something. Back when the Navy Ships used to do training there.

Well with the detainee camps it is completely different. I was there from '00-'04 the first time so I can tell you that pre 9/11 and post 9/11 GTMO are two completely different bases. MWR has been remodeling the base pretty well but the rest has pretty much remained the same, same schools, same housing, and same commands. Population has grown from about 2000 to 9000 though, that is pretty much the only noticeable difference though.

An '07 Big Horn 4x4 with 30k miles on it for $22,000 ain't such a deal, not one you need to "jump on" anyway.
My cousin bought a BRAND NEW '08 Hemi 4x4 loaded when the 4th Gens started hitting the lots for $23,000...

For just a few grand more you can get an '09 and for a little more than that a brand spankin new Ram. I picked up my 2009 1500 CC HEMI 4X4 with 22k miles on it about 2 weeks ago for $28k.

I would talk to supply or one of the visiting ships about a lift back to Conus. Back in the day we would carry a car or two if we had space. Good luck...
