Default bad luck

Lets hear the bad luck you have had with ur truck. Me bought my truck from my dad for $11,500 with 77,000 easy miles 3k miles later motor goes out. Cost 4k to fix spend 1,600 on new tires then at 85k miles trany goes out and has to spend 1,200 to fix. Havent even owned the truck for a year and now i think the rearend is going to go out.

Yeah not good at all. But at least when you are finished you will have a new truck. It would be better if you have the time and tools to do it all yourself though.

Engine goes at 80k. Tranny soon after. Rear end going. Sounds to me like Pops wasn't too much for doing fluid changes as these are all prime areas that will drop dead on you for the lack of fluid changes.
Number one reason an engine craps out = not changing fluid enough. Number one reason a transmission craps out = not changing fluid often enough. Number one reason a differential craps out = not changing fluid often enough. See a pattern here?

Of course if it's got the stock LSD in the rear, that'd be a good bet for why it's going out too.

I'd say watch for the radiator to go next as I'd bet it's still got the original fluid in it as well...
