Default On board Air

thinking of purchasing the superflow MV50 and was wondering of location i could mount it on my 08 QCSB 1500, kinda of thinking in the engine bay somewere. would i be correct in assuming the location should be relativity high in the engine bay to protect it from water? i could build a case to protect if from dirt my only concern is if it gets wet would it damage the unit

p.s. not looking ot use it while its submerged

I roiginally had my Viair 380C in my tool box. Some guys like to mount them on the frame rails. I later added a piece of stainless between my frame rails (under the radiator) and moved my compressor there (needed more room in the tool box). I keep an air hose in the back in case I need it for whatever reason.

There are pics in my signature links

do you think i should add a tank??? i dont have bags and doubt ill be buying any (never know though) and prob wouldn't run impact tools since a tank would be to small.( i could always bring my 6 gallon Bostitch air compressor and plug it into my power inverter) besides that would there really be a benefit to having a tank besides faster tire inflation??

Yes i would add a tank. You can get them cheap and having a stored air supply could be useful.

Lot of room to mount right behind the front bumper. I know guys with "hidden" winches mounted there, so I'm sure there is room for a compressor...

Ok last question before i go ahead and buy my setup. what size tank do you recommend?. i was going with a 3 gallon and wanted to run 2/8 hose just in case i use impact tools. i have a 6 gallon air compressor at the hose which i use for shop work and tire changes, you all think 3 gallons would be good? or should i go with a 5 or 7 gallon, just dunno were i would mount such a large tank yano
