With the AT3030xl that I have, I left the stock resonator on as well. Overall it does sound good. I don't know about other years, but my 2004 only had 1 resonator on after the muffler.

 

will do may not be for a month or so, haven't ordered it yet, but will be doing so tomorrow

 

I have a 2007 2500 and I put the 3030xl in and dumped it before the axle. I don't know what people classify as loud, but mine sounds great. Always getting people asking me what it is. And it sounds even better inside the cab.

You know I heard a 3030 the other day, And I was considering switching from my Magnaflow. I do still have the stock resonator on.

Mike: I have a 2005, Do you have the stock resonator on yours combined with the XL?
