Default Shops in Los angeles

Hello, I'm new to this forum, in fact this is my first post, great wealth of information here, well I just got a 2004 Ram with a Hemi engine, and yes it's got the notorious grinding in the rear end, not so bad yet but it certainly look on it's way to diaster.
After reading here I learn the best way is to replace the original LSD with an Auburn or tru track, ok sounds good I checked them out at Moes now here's a couple of questions I have.

Should I buy the differential only or the whole gear package?

the other question is, someone needs to rebuild that Diff, or is just a straight install? if so anyone knows a good differential rebuild shop in the los angeles area
thanks in advance

Yeah you are just going to have to go through the phone book and call a few shops and ask around. As for the diff, you just take the old out and replace it with the new. You dont have to change gear ratios if you like what you have now. Replacing bearings and such would be a good idea while you are in there though.

I went to see a guy today he specialize in transmissions and differentials only,he seems to know what he's talking about, and he said it might be the bearings only worst case is also the pinions and he quoted around $700.00 for bearings? doesn't this seem eccessive? he said the bearings are about $350.00 for parts of course he said it will bemore if it was the pinion and rack are gone bad, any thoughts on this?
thanks
