anybody else have any simple or complex solution to this? every time i shut the hood the big grill just rattles like junk. i can bump it with my hand when the hood is closed and it just rattles like loose plastic. whats the deal-e-o?

 

Where is it loose at? Can you tighten it or use a rivet gun?

 

it doesnt seem to be the big surround part but the small horizontal inserts. grill is OEM i'll double check when i get home and see if i can pin point it or take a pic

 

No weed, it's just cheap design. My grill flexes something firece when I shut my hood as well. It reminds me of shutting a car trunk with a loose license plate. Drives me nutz.
The grill just has a bit of levergae because of the design and it needs to be closed with effort. I won't go into the whole physics aspect, but it makes perfect sense why it bounces back forth a few times.

 

Wow....that does sound bad then. Does an after market grill/insert resolve the issue?? LOL

 

Mine rattles when I close it. I've not heard one that didn't. It is mildly annoying.

 

If it rattle just when you close the hood, I wouldn't worry about it. Chances are, when you are driving you won't hear it anyways.

 

Heck, I don't know how you'd stop it. That's a very large piece of plastic.
