Default Amsoil vs mobil 1

gettin ready to do an oil change on the 07 hemi qc, hopefully it will last me through winter. Have always run mobil 1 synthetic in my trucks, but amsoil in the hayabusa. Thought about trying the amsoil in the truck. What are your guys thoughts, stick with mobil 1 synthetic or try amsoil. Don't think i'll noticce a 10hp increase lol, but if it will protect the internal parts of the engine much better i may give it a shot

I would NEVER run Amsoil in an MDS Hemi engine. I'm not dead-panning Amsoil, but it's well documented by independent lab tests that the reason it lasts so long is that it actually gains viscosity (gets thicker) with repeated heatings and coolings.

Proper MDS operation is very dependent in the proper oil viscosity (5w-20), so I personally wouldn't use Amsoil in that particular application...

I run Amsoil in my MDS but I am also waiting on my SC so I can shut it off. If you are asking if Amsoil is going to protect better....IDK but both are great products. I only use Amsoil because my bro is a dealer amd I get it dirt cheap. but I do love it.

Hammer....is it ok to run if you don't want to use the MDS?

I have always run mobile 1.... 128K miles and the hemi runs like the day it was born...No need for me to change it up.

I feel the whole sythetic debate is more based on opinion. I know people that hate amsoil, others that love it.... Me...I just cant keep up anymore. I have always used Mobile 1 and never had an engine problem in any vehicle I have ever had... some over 200K miles.

Mobil 1 baby!!! Mobil 1 is the official motor oil of N.A.S.C.A.R. for a reason...because it works...pretty well at that.

Any links to these test results?
Just the 5w-20? or 0W-20? other oils?

after over a year, the 15w-40 in mine is nearly bang on to published specs for viscosity.

Mobil 1 would work fine for me. My trucks are both daily drivers, and dosent do anything extreme, and I refuse to run any oil more that 5-6k so the added expense of Amsoil would be for the name and bragging rights only, to me that doesnt justify the added expense. Same with RP.
