Default Just bought a SC Cortex 3950...and got Effed

Like the thread says, I just bought a Superchips Cortex 3950. Im not really sure what all it does, I figured it did about everything the flashpaq 38 did so I jumped on it. It was $50 with a Buy It Now of $275, so I bid 150 and let it roll.

It was locked, but the seller responded that he would unlock it upon the end of the auction and HE would pay to have it unlocked. Well, they message me and say that they are changing the paypal invoice to $280 because they added a detail (which shows its later) in over a day later I bid that they would only unlock it if it was bought for full BIN price. Im pissed and am gonna fight. What yall think?

file a dispute, if you send it back do so with a tracking number or delivery confirmation so you have proof it was sent AND delivered.

Yeah, I'd file a dispute with ebay, I'd also turn them in to Superchips. I know it's used, but they seem to have a bunch of SC tuners. If they are buying any new ones from SC, then SC may get on they a$$es for dubious practices...

From what I read, they are charging you $280 to deduct $100 so total of $180...

Either way that's an effen mess. I'd cancel payment. They didn't know it was locked prior to posting it for sale???

That's called bait and switch!!!

Bait and Switch is exactly what it is...It wont let me file a dispute because its too early

and im not wanting to cancel because I won it fair and square, and its wrong for them to not send it to me. Ive sold stuff WAY under what it was worth but still sent it.

okay well update people:

so far, eBay has helped me none. Like I said, he refunded me the money twice and they are really doing nothing to enforce the seller's commitment to sell even if the price is low. I have been waiting on a email back from the buyer protection/security department for 4 days that supposedly takes 2days max

pretty dissapointed with eBay. Maybe they will write me tom, maybe not. Seller wont respond to ANYTHING. Might be the end of me using ebay. I can honestly say I havent been fully satisfied with more than 50% of the things ive gotten and their selling fees are out of the roof now

I would have been skeptical when the comments on the bottom of the page states that he didnt know it had to be unlocked and didnt know about that...seems sketchy to me that he has no clue about an item that he is selling

Bait and Switch is illegal, I'd start threating legal action.

In retail sales, a bait-and-switch is a form of fraud in which the party putting forth the fraud lures in customers by advertising a product or service at a low price or with many features, then reveals to potential customers that the advertised good is not available at the original price or the list of assumed features is different.

In the United States, courts have held that the purveyor using a bait-and-switch operation may be subject to a lawsuit by customers for false advertising, and can be sued for trademark infringement by competing manufacturers, retailers, and others who profit from the sale of the product used as bait.
