Default Leveling kit buyer beware

I recently bought a leveling kit for my 07 1500 from Top Gun Customz. The order arrived quick but thats where all went bad. The second I opened the box I smelled spray paint and my oh boy sensor went off. The part does seem to have been spray painted black. The weld looked like an apprentice did them, instead of making a clean weld around the base they put three small welds which compared to other kits that are completely welded looked really low quality. Next the studs that are used to connect to the truck are held on by one small weld which looks as though if I tightened them the weld would certainly break. You get the point it is not a quality product. Things get worse. I contact the company to return the product and they inform me of an exsessive restocking fee. When I question the charge there response is that they have to pay an employee to restock the item, pathetic excuse. Then I am told I am the only person to ever return an item, seriously? Then I was told well we gave you free shipping, when I came back with well I have to pay to send it back sounds like a wash to me they had nothing. Basically in the end it is costing me around $25 dollars to return a $80 or so dollar item, sound fair? So please think twice when ordering from Top Gun Customz they do not seem to care about their customers and are certainly unreasonable and full of excuses. I found a far superior product to theirs for less money so do your research before buying.

I have the 2.5 top gunz leveling kit in mine and I must say mine is really beefy, I was impressed. Mine had three small tack welds on the open sides of the DOM tube, but the inside was completely welded around. I must say mine was powder coated a semi black. As for the mounting bolts they were all grade 8 and had a decent tack weld to all of them. Maybe there QC has gone down or what not, Sorry to hear that.

I'm surprised, I've never heard a bad report about anything from Top Gunz before. They have always had a pretty good reputation.

As far as Fat Bob's goes, they have been a rock solid company that Jeep guys have used for years. Their reputation among the Jeep crowd is impeccable...

hmm i havent heard many bad things about TGC either, did you look to see if it was welded on the inside like cg1022 said? and remember that generally speaking a good weld is stronger than the metal its attached to, so a good tack weld is a bit stronger than you think

And I recommend Fatbobsgarage to everyone I talk to about lifts. When we figured out that 2.5in was too big (and their site didnt say so) they asked for specific pictures and measurements. I sent them in and they said it was too big and wanted to send me the 2in for nothing. I didnt feel like taking it apart again so I just left the taller one in

Dont forget to vote for TOTM

I inspected it inside out, I kept thinking I was missing something. I showed it to a friend who is a fabricator and he seemed blown away by the lack of quality. I directly compared it to the Hell Bent Steel product I got in place of TGC's kit couldn't compare the two. It looked like it was tack welded, not completed, and sent to paint. Maybe the one I got slipped into the completed box by accicent. The lack of CS bothered me the most and thats really what led me to post my experience. Thanks for recommending some other quality places to get products from.

Guess I'm lucky with my Bilstien's from moe's. But the cv joint is almost maxxed out. It could use a crossmember drop. imo. Here's a picture.
