Wow, I'd be happy with 13. I'm lucky to get 11 in town no matter the weather.

You can also try to hunt down gas stations who have 100% pure gasoline and not E10 (10% ethanol) blended gases. The 10% blend of ethanol yields about 5% worse fuel economy on average than pure gasoline.

I saw the difference of 2 liters per 100 kilometers when I switched from 87 (10% eth) to 89 (5% eth).

According to numbers put out by our government, a 10% ethanol blend reduces fuel economy by 5% on average, a 15% blend by 7% and for those who can use it, a E85 fuel reduces fuel economy by 25%. BUT I've read a recent study that found those numbers only held true in newer flex fuel approved vehicles (which are the only ones that can run the E85).
Non-flex fuel vehicles (especially those produced before 2007) showed much worse fuel economy than the numbers the government put out with some getting 15-20% worse with only the 10% blend.

The study also showed that even in a "Flex Fuel" vehicle, running E85 may not be the way to go. They tested the average economy to be 25.56% worse, so when the price paid for E85 ($2.62 per gallon) was adjusted for energy equivalency compared to a gallon of pure gasoline priced at 3.03 dollar, it actually costs $3.73...

When I'm in Florida I have two stations who offer non-Ethanol gas within 8 miles of me and use them almost every time. When I'm in Georgia, it's 42 miles to nearest station with pure gas (at least that's the closest one I'm aware of whcih I find funny cause EVERY station offers "off-road only" diesel) so I buy 10% blended gas and I see about a 2 mpg reduction.

That's probably true, 'Weed. Both of the places I get it from are independent, unbranded. One has 89 & 93 octane in ethanol free and the other just 93 octane.

Dont let that discourage you. I know for a fact of a station not too far away from me that sell 100% and isnt on that link

Just so you know how, you can test for ethanol rather easily. Go get a empty mason jar and mark a line half way. The fill with water to that line. Go get some fuel from your station you want to test and add about 1/4 so the total liquid in the jar is 3/4 full. Then seal it and shake it for a while. Let is settle and in the end if the water is now above the half way line then the water has binded with the ethanol.
