Honestly it didnt sound bad... but the problem with it was it didnt sound like a mean performance tuned machine which is what everyone thinks running open pipes will sound like... Dont forget the 4.7 is just over 200 hp (235)... Its not a 350-400hp hemi which is gonna sound better.

What dont you like about it? There are ways to change the tone of the exhaust even with a cutout. What do you have on the truck now? do you have a CAI for example? That alone can change the tone slightly. What size pipe is it? What brand cutout did you go with? Is it flowing straight out or does it have a down pipe on it? If it has the down pipe where is it pointing? Is the cutout right after the Y pipe or further down by the muffler? What muffler do you have on it? Stock or aftermarket? Although the exhaust gasses pass through the cutout for the most part, not all of it will go through it so you will get some residual gasses going through the muffler.
