The Coquihalla Highway- Who has driven it or anything similiar
So just got my Ram and was reading a lot about the 4x4 use on it. If I am driving on a pavement that is lightly covered with snow but fear of black ice, do I use the 4x4 or not?
What do you guys suggest when it comes to using 4x4 on pavement with mild snow
Thanks

I've driven that road. Used to live out that way years ago.
Personally, I wont use 4x4 unless its pretty slushy or a decent amount of snow on road at the start of the winter (when its most slippery)
You can use it whenever you feel necessary really, but in most cases, its not gonna do you much good if you hit a big patch of black ice.

I didn't drive this road but I think 4x4 will not hurt. Winter tires + low speed + 4x4 = less chance to go to the ditch
, even on the black ice because Blizzak's are pretty good in icy conditions.

I agree on black ice you're pretty much going for a ride, but being in 4 wheel drive gives you the ability to steer your way out of a lot of slippery situations. With the steerage pulling, it's easier to keep the back end behind you. I'd use it as long as the roads are not dry. Just my $0.02
Drove over the Coquihalla many times but that was in my Ford days and I used 4x4 on many occasions. Now I am out East and we got slammed yesterday and last night and I never took my truck out of 4x4. I was told by a few buddies that have Rams to keep her below 80km when engaged.

Ok, I will keep her slow if I am in 4x4. I appreciate the feedback, don't want to go over a cliff. The tires are amazing though, so far I have got through most everything with no 4wd.
