Wheel offset??
cool thx Hammer. Also, if I want the tire to stick out the side more, do I want something with like a 4.25 back spacing or like a 5 back spacing? I dont understand the backspacing. Im really leaning toward the dick cepek dc1(black on chrome, with the chrome cap) 18x9 says its a 4.50 backspacing. Summit has them for 203 each, gonna see if I can find them a little cheaper. Think those would work out well for me?

The less the backspacing and the less offset (negative being better) makes the tires stick out farther. Nobody seems to make the really "deep dish" wheels like they did in the late '80s and early '90s. I've only seen them in like 15" wheels. Might be a technical reason why they don't anymore in the 17" and larger wheel sizes needed to clear the large calipers they use today. I had a set of 15's on a Wrangler I had in the late '90s that REALLY threw the tires out. I don't remember the specs, but they were some serious deep dishes.
The Cepeks are my personal favorite. They came out about 6 months after I bought my Classic IIs. They come out of the same factory as the Mickey Thompsons and have a very similar strength to weight ratio. DC1s are a good choice.

thanks for clearing that up for me. Ive kinda liked the cepeks since I first saw them, plus since I have some other chrome stuff on the truck (steps and bull bar) I think it would look retarted going with a completely black rim without changing everything else out to black. The DC1's on summit say they are -13 offset and 4.5 backspacing, so they should sit out nice if Im understand correctly. Ya I actually have been looking for some of the deep dish rims but have had bad luck finding them. Plus everything now is too flashy for my taste. the dc1s I think I've got my mind set on
and getting them from summit, they are only going to charge me 12 bucks shipping lol

-19mm offset will set you out another 1/4" in a 9" wheel size which is what your looking at; (4.56 BS & -12mm offset= 9" wide wheel).
-25mm(4"BS) will put you out 1/2" more then -12mm
Just giving you a few more options if it aint wide enough for a?...lol

lol thanks Dirtydog, i dont know why but for me the farther out the better. I was originally looking into the spacers after talking to Matt, but a few buddies of mine have talked me out of them, so Im trying to get a rim that will make me happy. Good call btw on the 17's Hammer, Im going to go with those over the 18's just cause of both the price and variety of tires. With the stock rims and tires they are pretty much even with the wheel well. With the new ones -12 offset and 4.5 bs how much can I expect them to stick out?

Pro Comp has a Gloss Black Steel wheel "Series 98" in 17"X9" with 3 different backspacings: 4.5", 3.5", and 2.5". www.procompusa.com . They don't mention offset
.
