I have 17x9s with -12mm offset. I'm looking for flares for it.

This is the closest pic I have of a profile view:

What's the backspacing? Need to know both backspacing and offset to figure out how far they will stick out...

Almost identical specs as my wheels. This should give you a general idea of stance with 12.5" wide tires:

what wheels (brand/modle) are your rims Hammer? Also, since I'm probably going to be in the market myself for some new rims what if I want them to stick out a little farther? is the lower the number backspacing the farther it sticks out? Also, since im planning on going with a 35x12.50 should I look for a 10 inch width rim or is 9 still ok? I was told a 12.5 on a 9 in width rim would make the tire sit tall and wear out faster in the middle, is that true or was the guy blowing smoke? I dont know squat about this stuff, but Im freaking thankful you guys are out there.

The guy don't know his a$$ from a hole in the ground. Ideal specs are the tire should be 3" wider than the wheel, with 1" + or - being in spec. My wheels are Mickey Thompson Classic IIs, nothing fancy, relatively inexpensive aluminum wheel with a very good strength to weight ratio. Size is 17x9, either a 9" or 10" wide wheel would be fine.

My tires at 30k miles, I think they are wearing just fine:
