Cam help!!!

As a cost savings technique, you COULD do a 6.1 cam as they are always cheap. They add about 25hp but most guys dont keep them for long as they get the fever and want more power. I have seen 6.1 cams sells for 50-100 bux.
As for the Crazy Jay and power specs, check this link

If you want to pick up everything you need all at once, inertia motor sports sells a cam install kit that comes with all the parts needed for the swap. If you pull the heads (which makes things super easy to work on) they have the kit with all the needed parts for $130, it will come with the head bolts, cam/crank bolts, head gaskets, exhaust gaskets, 6.1 pushrods and 6.1 springs. That is where I ordered my install kit from and it was at my door about a week after ordering.

03's are tougher to tune because there is not a whole lot of support for them, and with an agressive cam like Weeds or mine you need to have a custom tune and you need to be able to adjust the idle, but from what I remeber none of the tuners out there will adjust the idle on the 03's. There are some work arounds/tricks that some can do to get them to run right however with mine being an 05' I cant really comment on what is needed for your truck to be able to be tuned for a big lopey cam.

NO.... Depending on the cam, a 113lsa will need to be tuned and the idle bumped up to get it to run. 114 and up wont require much other than some fuel trims being adjusted if needed, otherwise the superchips programmer should be able to run it fine on their canned tunes. The 6.1 is pretty much a direct swap with no tuning required.

They are all 6.1 cams or at leasted based off of a 6.1 blank or core. But yes you should see more power off of an aftermarket performance cam than you will off the 6.1 cam. However supporting mods are a key factor as well. The bigger the cam the more supporting mods you arre going to need to get it to run right. Also where the cam makes its power is another thing that you need to look into for what you want to do with your vehicle.
