Default Drain plug help.

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram SLT 4.7 liter. My oil drain plug has been rounded off thanks to EZ Lube. I have tried several options to get it off: vice grips, dremel tool and flat head screw driver plus wrench, etc. I am going to try bolt extractors but I'm unsure as to what size I need. What wrench size is needed to remove the drain plug? Any other ideas as far as removing the plug are appreciated.

I have a set of Craftsman Bolt-Outs I bought for like $15.99. They work great for rounded out heads...

Yep, IMO there are two things should be in EVERY toolbox to get you out of trouble, a set of Bolt-Outs for bolts and a set of Grab-Its for screws...

You'll spend under $20 on each and save yourself hours of headache.

Then get a Fumoto valve for it. Great invention.

I also usually keep a couple cold ones in my tool box...one for accomplished jobs and the other for troubled jobs! but I agree with the Craftsmen Bolt outs....I just tackled the same problem with the wife's car!

Like you, when we bought my wifes Mini Cooper the oil pan bolt felt like someone put a combo of lok-tite and used an impact gun. Those tools that Hammer shows are what i have and used I bought them years ago and never used them but that ONE time

Irwin makes my set

Thanks for all your help. I had to order a new plug so as soon as it arrives, I will attempt to get the bolt off using the aforementioned bolt extractor. I will keep you guys posted.
