Default Cold Air intake.

I am looking into buying a new cold air intake for my 2005 dodge ram 1500. Any suggestions? I was looking and i found these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-08...item3cb4f695cd
i looked online about them and people said they were awesome but im still not sure.

Those are the same one's that I was looking at for my 05 ram also .When I get the few extra dollars I was going to get one for my truck it was only a few dollars for it if I remember correctly .Worth a shot bets $320.00 for a K&N setup .

Those are nice and simple. However the metal does get hot and gets "heat soaked". However, it being more open and free flowing helps. You can make your own BTW as many of us have (from PVC)

3" is the most you need to do as that is the I.D. of the throttle body.

Yeah total cost should be under $75 bucks....the most expensive part is the filter...which you can get a Spectre for pretty cheap.....$29 i think.

Thanks Weedahoe! I knew 3" was the common size, put the pipe in the picture looked bigger to me.

Thats because some guys use 4" but IMO is is a waste and overkill

Yes, it's 4'' pvc, and reduces to 3'' after last turn to throttle body. My thought was more cooler, less restricted air as far as I could get it the better. I know plumbers, so the fittins did'nt cost me anything.
