so i want a new set of wheels , i know the backspacing and the width but as i look around they are asking what offset i want ? i see it go from a posotive 25 to a negative 25 , what is the offset ? or how can i figure it out easy ? i want a set of 20s but i dont want them to stick out of the fenders to far , i like the tucked in look , is there an offset on our stock wheels ?
I believe that it is +19MM offset for factory, but any good tire shop ought to be able to figure out what will work. When you go with a larger rim and tire, you want to make sure that there will be enough clearance for turning.
Tucked in will be a positive offset. Offset is the difference between the vertical center-line of the wheel in relation to the mounting surface. Positive offset pulls the wheel in, negative moves it out.
I have 17x9 Dick Cepek DC-1s with -12mm offset and 4.53" backspace.
