This is not necessarily true. There are some high performance bulbs that will last the same as OEM's. Check out the SOLUX bulbs. They're a noticable improvement in brightness and a fair amount whiter than OEM (similar to the ultras), but they don't burn out real fast. Their claim is they last as long as standard OEM bulbs. At $50 a set for ultras, I wish I would have realized that the ultras burn out so fast. The solux are about the same price, but (according to solux) they last up to 4x longer than ultras. Oh, and they're not illegal and they're not obnoxious/blinding...just better lighting.

I have had the Silverstars in my headlights for about 2 years now. They don't make the ultra's for the 08 headlights, just the fogs. I have had them in the fogs for over a year now. They are much brighter than the std halogen bulbs. It's a much whiter light too.

Just following-up on this... I've been doing a lot of night driving this summer (mostly in the country). I still really like the solux bulbs mentioned previously and the color of light is actually similar to daylight as they state. I just hope they last like they promise. We'll see and I'll keep you updated.

I put the Ultras in my fog lights and the next step down in my headlights last fall and they are doing fine. Definitely brighter than stock, make sure when you put them in that you do not touch the bulb or wear gloves. Got them off Ebay for $30 a pair so it was only $60.

That's what I have. Ultra's in the fogs and regular silverstars in the head lights. Very bright.

I only got 9-15 months out of them tops. I think the regular silverstars are a little better but as it states right on the package, the ultras burn out quick.
