Default What's it worth?

So a guy here at work has a black, SLT quad cab. It's a 2003, Auto, Hemi, 4x4 and 120,000 miles. In my opinion it's been totally neglected. He just found out that it needs a new motor (its locked up, probably a spun bearing). The oil was milky so it probably had a bad head gasket, so who knows if the heads are any good. The transmission fluid is burnt, might need some trans work too. The front suspension is shot, tires are cupped, the interior is filthy and the driver door has a huge dent from sliding sideways into a tree stump (door functions ok though).

I offered him $1000 as a joke because he's cheap and I figure the motor and potenial trans work will exceed $3000. What would you offer?

If you could match it with a roll-over vehicle where the motor and trans is in good shape with good front end suspension you could make a truck maybe. Might be worth more to part it out if most of the body is in decent shape.

Thanks for the input guys, looks like he's going to fix it... to the tune of nearly $4,000. I heard that's also about what he owes on it too. Might have been able to buy it from him had it been paid off.

That would probably be near $3000 in parts alone, nevermind labour.
That would be to fix everything anyway...guessing he's just gonna slap a motor in there and hope the tranny holds up
