I just changed the oil in mine today - Pennzoil Hi-Mileage conventional at 110K. I only use synthetic in my turbo-charged Mazda.

Oh, and welcome aboard.

Thanks for the info. I guess I should have been more specific. I am curious what I should use as far as 5w-30 or 10w -30 and why. When I first bought the truck I asked a local garage the dodge dealership and a mechanic buddy and got diff answers from all. This is a stock engine.

An '04 will probably want 5W-30. They switched to 5W-20 sometime around '04-'05. It should say on the filler cap.

It was 2005 when Chrysler made the switch to 5W-20.

I use Mobil 1 5W-20 motor oil.

Why Mobil 1? Because if it is good enough to be the Official Motor Oil of N.A.S.C.A.R. and good enough to be the factory fill in Cadillac C.T.S.-Vs, Chevrolet Corvettes, Dodge Vipers, and Porsches to name a few, then it is good enough for me.

Why 5W-20? Because that is what the owner's manual says and I am still under the 7yr/70,000 mile Powertrain Warranty.

You know Mobile1 PAYS NASCAR and the auto manufacturers to be their official oils right? The oil company I work for use to do the exact same thing with the IHRA.
