Default Flat black stripe over existing paint

Hey guys, been thinking about doing some Flat black on my hood maybe take it over the cab. What I'm thinking about doing is either just doing the top of the raised cowl section of the hood or doing the top and the slanted side of the cowl too. I want to do it the whole length of the hood from the grill back. Im planning on doing the grill inserts too to bring down the flat black down on the front.

but what do you all think would look better just doing the top or both top and side? also what do you think would be the best way to avoid a hard paint line. i mean its bound to have a paint line when spraying flat stripe over an existing paint.. do you think pulling the tape asap will be enough to smooth out the edge? should i bother putting a clear over it? Clear is only going to make the lip between the two colors more noticeable. i sprayed my whole runner flat black and didn't clear it, it was never the same once it got all muddy but it was a trail truck i never actually tried to clean it.

do you think it would be too much to do the whole grill flat and not just the inserts? what would be the best way to paint the chrome? iv never had luck with it.

do you think the stripe would look good or just stupid?

Its actually a stencil. I can not remember where I bought it from, I bought the stencil online, gave it to a buddy of mine at a body shop and he sprayed it on. It held up for about 70k miles on the truck until it got clobbered by a drunk driver. Painting the chrome on the grill? What do you mean?

Have a sign shop do it in flat or satin (or carbon fiber) vinyl. It'll last 5+ years and if you change your mind you can pull it off.
