Anyone got suggestions on painting our stock crosshair plastic(fake chrome) girlles. Planning on doing it, all I've figured out is I gotta scuff it up pretty good, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sand it with a red scotch brute until it's completely dull. Kinda looks like brushed aluminium

Dawn soap, degreaser, then I do a paint thinner for a last clean. After dry two coats of adhesion promoter. Filler primer, 2-3 good coats. Base, thin med med coats. Clear, dust thin heavy heavy. Flash times increase with each coat.

Wetsand and buff

paint FTW. A paintable ST grille would look better than plastidip

making sure it is clean after the scuff is the most important part. My first one let go after a couple of months, but the second time we used primer that had adhesian promoter in it.

Plasti dip FTW!! It would be much easier, give you the look you want, and if you needed to, you could just peel it off and go back to the chrome. At least this way you can see if you really like the look before destroying your grill to paint it.

Since it is the cross hairs and not the shell then it can work either way i think.
color match the shell and black the cross hairs maybe?
