Will I regret this!! Mega to quad cab downgrade
I have the opportunity to trade my gasser mega 1500 for a diesel 6speed quad dually!! Ive been searhig for manual diesel for a while and this is the closest I'm gonna get. I really wanted to stay with a mega. But i can't find one in This price range with these options and mileage.
Can anyone help me With the decision of quad vs mega
Between a hemi vs a diesel i know there's no comparison. But I'm debating on holding out or not for a mega. I don't necessarily need the space of a mega. It's more of a luxury.

Personally I think the Mega Cab's are just stupidly big. But then again I'm not overly concerned about how comfortable my backseat passengers are. I hardly ever have passengers in the backseat as it usually has all my tools and paperwork in the back.
Really the only use for a Mega Cab that I see is if you frequently carry passengers in the back seat for extended trips...I'm 6'1 and I've ridden in the back seat of one of these trucks for over an hour and been fine.
However the question I'd be more concerned about is the DRW vs. SRW...do you really need a truck with DRW? Makes for quite the burly truck and increase in operating and maintenance costs...costs that might be hard to justifiy.

I might be biased, but you also kinda answered your own question. If you don't need the space than probably should go w/QC. You have decided w/CTD, so you'd be ok with another mega. I personally was looking for a mega, and settled with a gasser because my choices were limited when I was buying. I do have two car seats in the back of mine, and it's nice not having the seats kicked!
Go big or go home! I guess the dually will take care of that too.

Other than the extra 2 tires, the dually vs SRW there isn't really any extra cost. If you do any towing, having the dual rear wheels is extra insurance in case of a flat when loaded.
Yes the maintenance cost on the CTD is more than a gasser due to the extra amount of oil required at oil changes and external fuel filters.
The QC has plenty of room for me as well.
