Default 1/4 mile and 0-60 time

So yesterday I sold my Superchips because im going to get an SCT by Hemifever () and decided to do one more last tuning to be able to compare me current results with the new SCT tune.
with that said, I was tunning the spark plug timing with my Superchips and decided to go with -3.00 Degrees instead of 0 deg. anything lower than -5.00 deg, i would get spark plug knock. Also changed tune to 91 oct since i had 93 oct.
After tuning, I headed out to the country side roads and did a 1/4 and 0-60 (used Superchips data logging) and here are my results:

Bone Stock (8 months ago, dont remember EXACTLY the numbers since i deleted the records )
1/4 18.42
0-60mph 12.00

Current mods (look at signature)
1/4 17.01 @ 77mph
0-60mph 10.73

Cant wait till i get the SCT by Hemifever! I'll post results as soon as i get it

That looks a little slow for the mods you have listed.

Why did you retard the timing? did you log during each of those times to check for any KR and adjust the fuel trim accordingly? Did you log your times as well?

Boy I hope his tunes are better for the 5.9 than they used to be. Local Mopar performance shop that has since been sold did a couple of dyno runs with a Durango they were working on, it was an '01 I think and this was probably late fall of '09.

The SCT custom tune only made 8 HP over the stock tune while the SC gained about 33. I'm almost sure Hemifever did the custom tune but I won't swear to it.

Very interested in seeing how your times change when you get the SCT...

I was told by one of my co-workers (companies top mechanic, Diesel and gas freak) that retarding a bit of timing can help a bit according to my mods. Unfortunately i didnt log every time i changed the timing maybe I should go back out there and log each timing. I adjusted till i heard pinging. Although i did notice some change (good) Fuel trim; i didnt adjust ( i dont think superchips will allow me) and I dont know how much of it to change.
Yea she is quite slow, maybe its just Torque Managment that is killing my times? even though, it does yank me back a bit at WOT from 35mph/1700rpm?

Hammer-
now that you mentioned that, superchips does claim like 40hp and 47tq on a STOCK 5.9. Makes me think if Hemifever would be able to get me those gains PLUS maybe more according to my mods, although he did tell me that he would tune keeping in mind the intake mani? OH and Hughes engines does have a special tune for their FI Airgap intake claiming up to 30tq to the rear...whose tune would be better? i'll contact Hemifever for more info.

what do you guys think?

Ah theres the issue, you have a 5.9, completely missed that, ok it does sound a little better now. Yeah you should do a log everytime you mess with it, going til you hear it pinging and backing it off isnt the best of things to do. specially if you can log for a lot of things. Im trying to think back now, I know a lot of people have advanced thier timing to pick up some extra hp/tq specially with cams, but I havent heard of a whole lot of people retarding thier timing and picking up much of anything powerwise

Thats what I was afraid you were going to say. I think this was my best with my setup. So with that being said, i think it is time you start working on that wishlist of yours.
