Default Where do I mount my Brake Module ? ! ?

Truck is 1500, 2008 x42 QuadCab, Big Horn, 5.7 Hemi, 40/20/40 Front seat with center fold-down back storrage. 2-cup holders are in fold-down lower center of dash. Brake module is a Tekonsha and has the Dodge wiring harnes that plugs into factory harness up under the dash above brake pedal.

The problem is ... Where do I mount this thing so I don't bang my knees on it. I had it mounted on the lower left side of the dash below the steering wheel. I'm almost touching it when seated. I'm 5'9" at 200 lbs. I don't sit close to the steering wheel. My arms are almost fully extended to the steering wheel while seated. My legs are not cramped up under the dash, but, there is verry little room between the module and my knees.

Any help is appreciated!

depending on how big it is you might be able to put it in the pocket underneath the factory radio.. Although if you have navigation that pocket is pretty small.. Might take more time to do it that way but I always hate seeing those brake modules drilled into the underdash.

I'm 5'10" so very similar height as you.

I've had the brake controller on the left side, between the OBDII port and E-Brake pedal. The only issue I've had with that is when my wife tried to apply the e-brake, she applied the brake controller instead. I had to re-install it... not a big issue.

Like Ben said, I mounted mine in the pocket under the radio. It's snug, but it fit. It looks pretty good in there, but like mentioned, it depends on how big the controller is.

Mine is under the dash above my right leg next to the center part of the dash. I'm 6'2" and have no issues with hitting it. I used the factory screw to mount it so no drilling required. Been there since 08.

Happen to be able to take a picture of this? I am interested to see how you did this. Also, what model controller do you have?

That's exactly where mine has been since 04 with no issues at all.

I took the center bezel out and cut out the back portion of the pocket so the controller would slide all the way back. The controller is a Pilot. The pic is kind of crappy...sorry!
This is the model:

I have mine in the exact same spot as LxMan1...I am 6'3" and have no issues, but when I was going with a friend to pick up a car, when it was his turn to drive, he cried about it till no end...and he is 5'8-9" so it prolly has something to do with how close you need the seat slid up to reach the pedals comfortably...Maybe try to put it directly under the steering wheel and just be careful not to snag it when sliding into the seat...unless you're Bo or Luke, I don't see a reason to be "flying" in and out of the cab
